April Moment of the Month Winner – Brynwood, Brynmawr Care Village

We are proud to introduce our new recognition scheme Moment of the Month, designed to shine a spotlight on the meaningful moments that truly reflect our values and we’re delighted to announce Brynwood at Brynmawr Care Village, as our very first winners!!

The winning nomination, submitted by a family member, described a deeply personal moment on a resident’s 49th wedding anniversary. Staff noticed a family member’s distress and instinctively came together to offer comfort providing reassurance, kind words, refreshments, and arranging an anniversary card and flowers without hesitation.

What made this moment so special was the way care was extended beyond the resident to their family member, delivered with warmth, dignity and genuine humanity. There was no procedure to follow just spontaneous compassion and togetherness in the moment.

The family member later shared that she left feeling uplifted and deeply touched, describing the team as “always wonderful” and, on this occasion, having gone “over and above their usual very high level of care and compassion.”

This nomination stood out for its emotional impact, its clear alignment with Caron Group values, and as a reminder that it is often the quiet, thoughtful moments that mean the most.
