Success at the Wales Care Awards 2026

Representatives from across the Caron Group came together to attend the Wales Care Awards 2026, a prestigious event celebrating the outstanding individuals who go above and beyond across the social care sector in Wales. 

As a long-standing supporter of Care Forum Wales and the Wales Care Awards, Caron Group is proud to champion an event that recognises the dedication, compassion and professionalism of those working across care services throughout Wales. The awards provides an important opportunity to shine a spotlight on the amazing people who make a difference to the lives of residents, families and colleagues every day. 

Silver Award Success for Bella Bates 

We were delighted to celebrate the achievements of Bella Bates, Regional Support Lead, who was awarded Silver in the Excellence in Supporting Function category. 

The category recognises those working behind the scenes whose contribution is vital to the smooth running of care services. Bella plays an instrumental role in supporting homes, colleagues, residents and families across the Caron Group network. She consistently demonstrates the values that are at the heart of outstanding care. 

Through her dedication, hard work and commitment to supporting our teams, Bella helps ensure our homes continue to provide exceptional care and support. Her Silver Award is a well-deserved recognition of the significant impact she makes every day. 

Gold Award Recognition for Alyx Sharkey 

The evening also brought further success for Caron Group. Alyx Sharkey, Senior Nurse at Anwen Care Home, receiving the Gold Award in the Special Recognition category. 

Alyx’s award reflects her exceptional dedication to residents, unwavering commitment to high-quality care and the positive influence she has on those around her. Her passion for nursing and dedication to making a difference make her a truly deserving winner. 

Celebrating the Best of Welsh Social Care 

The Wales Care Awards recognise excellence across all areas of social care. It celebrates those whose hard work, compassion and commitment help improve the lives of others. From frontline care and nursing professionals to those providing invaluable support behind the scenes. The awards showcase the very best our sector has to offer.
