Moment of the Month – August 2026 Winner Announced 

🌟 Celebrating an Exceptional Moment in Care 🌟

Moment of the Month is our group-wide recognition programme. Designed to celebrate the moments that truly reflect our values across Caron Group. 

August was a record-breaking month, with 26 nominations received from across our homes, each showcasing outstanding compassion, teamwork and dedication. 

🏆 Winner: Charlie Iskenderova, Wellbeing Lead, April Court 

Charlie received eight separate nominations from residents, family members, colleagues and management. Most powerfully, the resident and family feedback showed the personal and lasting impact she has on life at April Court. 

A resident described how Charlie has “gone above and beyond” for her and other residents. They spoke about the relationship of trust Charlie has created, saying she always feels confident and comfortable sharing everything with her and adding: “She brings such a positive energy to the home, I couldn’t have asked for anyone better.” 

A family member described Charlie’s impact as: “Helping my mum from not feeling lonely and making her feel special.” It is a simple statement, but one that gets to the heart of resident-centred care. Charlie’s enthusiasm and creativity create memorable experiences, but it is the way she helps residents feel known, valued and less alone that makes her contribution so meaningful. 

👏 Runners-Up Recognition 

Beacon Lodge Team 

The Beacon Lodge team were recognised for their exceptional teamwork and dedication in supporting a resident through consistent implementation of his Positive Behaviour Support Plan. By building trusting relationships, working collaboratively and remaining resilient through challenges, the team has helped him feel safe, secure and happy in his home. Their collective efforts have made a significant difference to his wellbeing and quality of life. 

Marisa Parry and the Wellbeing Team, Glain House 

Marisa and the Wellbeing Team were recognised for creating a truly special 100th birthday celebration for a resident. They brought together family, friends, residents and staff, created a meaningful memory wall using photographs from her life and arranged a celebration featuring the Mayor of Cardiff. Family feedback reflected how much the thoughtful and person-centred occasion meant to everyone involved.
