We are delighted to share that The Court – St Fagans has been named a finalist in the prestigious Healthcare Design Awards 2026, shortlisted in the Best Landscape Design category Best Landscape Design category. This recognition celebrates the transformation and excellence of our outdoor spaces, beautifully designed to promote wellbeing, connection with nature, and quality of life for residents and their families.

Celebrating Excellence in Healthcare Design

The Healthcare Design Awards are a respected benchmark for innovation across the care and healthcare sectors. The awards highlight organisations that demonstrate outstanding creativity, quality and impact in the design of environments where people live, recover and thrive. Being shortlisted reflects not only exceptional visual design, but the positive influence these projects have on the people who experience them.

For us, this nomination is particularly meaningful as it shines a light on the importance of thoughtful, inclusive outdoor spaces for older adults and those with complex needs. The gardens at The Court have been carefully designed to be calming, accessible, and engaging. supporting sensory stimulation, social interaction and therapeutic benefit.

A Heritage Building Transformed

Originally built in 1907, The Court is a striking listed building located near historic St Fagans Castle. The home has long served as a familiar and well‑loved landmark in the Cardiff community. Over the past eight years, the home has undergone an extensive programme of redevelopment, combining architectural preservation with modern enhancements to create a warm, uplifting and future‑focused living environment.

The award‑nominated gardens form a central part of this transformation. With significant investment and thoughtful design, our outdoor spaces now include:

  • Beautiful, landscaped pathways.
  • Sensory planting and seasonal colour.
  • Peaceful seating areas for reflection and family visits.
  • Accessible routes for residents with mobility needs.
  • Spaces designed to support activities, celebrations and outdoor wellbeing.

These gardens were created not only to look beautiful, but to enrich daily life for everyone who calls The Court home.

A Team Effort We Are Proud Of

We are incredibly proud of the design and development team, partners and colleagues whose dedication, creativity and passion have helped bring this vision to life. Every feature whether structural, architectural or horticultural has been shaped with intention and care for the people who use the space every day.

This nomination is a testament to the collaborative work and relentless commitment to making The Court a home where residents can feel inspired, calm, and connected to their surroundings.

Awards Ceremony – February 2026

We look forward to joining fellow finalists and industry leaders at the London Hilton on Park Lane on 12 February 2026, where this year’s winners will be announced. Celebrating among organisations who share our drive for innovation and excellence is something we are incredibly excited for.
